Lithium chloride Introduction:
Lithium chloride is an inorganic substance with molecular formula LiCl and molecular weight 42.39. It's a white crystal,
deliquescent. Salty, soluble in water, and other organic solvents. Belongs to the low toxicity class, but to the eyes and mucous membrane has a strong stimulation and corrosive effect. Lithium chloride is mainly used in the field of air conditioning, as a flux, desiccant, chemical reagents, and used in fireworks, dry batteries.

Lithium chloride Usage:
Raw material for making lithium. Flux in electrolytic metal production (such as titanium and aluminum production), used as aluminum welding agent, air conditioning dehumidifier and special cement raw materials, but also used in flame, in the battery industry for the production of lithium manganese battery electrolyte. Anhydrous LiCl is mainly used as flux and brazing agent for electrolytic preparation and aluminum metal, and as hygroscopicity (dehumidification) agent in non-refrigerated air conditioning machine. can be prepared by electrolyzing LiCl/KCl mixed molten salt at 600ºC. The industrial metal lithium is produced by this method. Lithium chloride is also used as a dehumidifier in air conditioning systems, as a good flux in metal electrolysis or powder preparation (such as titanium and aluminum production), as a precipitant for RNA, and as an additive in Stille reactions. Lithium chloride can be prepared with N, N-dimethylformamide (DMF) in different concentrations as a solvent for dissolving polymers. It is commonly used as an eluent for GPC molecular weight measurements.
